Tane Primary School is a public school that is situated in Surman, 1482 Section 2 in the north part of Pretoria, Gauteng. The school was named after one of the late great grand chief Jan Tane Kekana (1840-1897) who realized the lack of education in his community and to alleviate it, he established the school. Through his hard work and dedication he ensured that the school becomes what it is today. After he passed on the community took over in order to continue his legacy and named the school after him to honor his generosity and hard work.
The school believes in respect, transparency, discipline, trust, fairness, accountability, cooperation, integrity, and love. Tane Primary School has served 60 years of excellence. The school provides classes from grade R to grade 7 and does not only provide opportunities to learners within the community but also around the neighboring communities.
